South Lanarkshire Council appointed us as Architects and Project Managers for their care housing reprovisioning programme. This involved four new-build projects running simultaneously on two sites, providing a total of 80 bed spaces for the frail elderly together with two 30 place dementia care day centres.
The care housing provides flexible accommodation and SMART technology to reflect the changing needs of frail elderly residents with increasing dementia. The designs achieve excellent space standards and provide a safe dementia-friendly environment with landscaped garden views.
As Project Managers we were responsible for selecting the full design team and coordinating their input, overall programming, advising on procurement routes, providing project management during the construction phase, and monitoring progress and costs.
